How should I represent a groomsman who will be serving in Iraq on the wedding date?

One of the groomsmen in our wedding is being sent to Iraq and will not be able to attend. We are still going to count him as a member of the wedding party and mention in the program why he is not there. But I want to do something in the wedding to represent him somehow. Maybe have the bridesmaid he was supposed to join carry a flag or army hat. Anyone have any suggestions?

    An army hat and also should find way to remind him as well you and the bridesmaid who is for our country have prayer or poem for our country have prayer or poem for him of the reception see.

    I have seen cardboard cut outs of family members not able to attend weddings. Kinda funny.
