Iraq?
DC asked:
Why has everyone in the US condemned Bush for the conflict in Iraq and talk as nobody supported the invasion besides him. Congress took a vote to invade, and Democrats like Clinton and Kerry were part of the majority that was in favor of the invasion. I remember one of the first speeches Bush made about the invasion he talked how it wasn’t going to be easy and could take up to 10 years but that the US would get the job done. Nobody was complaining or had a problem when he said it then, but everyone complains now that it has gone on for 5 years.

What has switched the publics view on the matter so much in only 5 years, and why have politicians flip flopped on the issue? Is it just because they want to look good and say whatever they think their voters want to hear despite what they actually support and believe? If so, then why do people continue to vote for these same people again and again?

the reason for the flip flop is americans tend to have no memory, and are a want it in 15 min or it is free society, instant gratification (sorry my spelling sucks)
the major media wants the war to be like vietnam where they were able to defeat the military.
ONLY five years???? as i recall only one of our wars has lasted longer, and that one was unjust as well. i do agree with the premise of vietnam moreso than this one
First off, the way the administration has handled the war. Second, they kept changing the reasons why we went in, first it was WMD’s, then defeat the terrorists and then to give Iraqies democracy. And then finally, there was the casualties we have suffered and still are. Regardless, I believe we need to win there.
Well if your brother or sister or friend got blown up over there maybe you would get your head out of your **** and realize why the war has to end. Oh and to add to that when you try to think about how they died with a purpose or for a cause you realize that the guys you were trying to free are the ones that just blew them up in a power struggle.
if you didnt know it the killing is becuase the shia muslims god POed cuz the sunnis treated them so bad so now they wanna kill them. So, the sunnis kill the Shia back. When there is a civil war and we have are army over there yeah people are going to die.
also, there are muslim extremist that **** westerners even though in my understanding of the Quran it says that you should be accepting of the Christians.
