What are some of the progresses in the Iraq war?

binny asked:

I am having a debate tomorrow on the Iraq war and the progresses made. When it comes to the war, i am very clueless, i don’t usually pay attenetion to these things, considering that i am only 14.So please try not to use any big words.

Progress in Iraq war. let’s see.
Does increasing the national debt to record levels count as progress?
How about killing untold thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians?
How about record high gas prices because of the so-called fuel shortages created by the war?
Oh yes, lets not forget the unnecessary deaths of over 3450 US servicemen and women.
Now this may not seem like “progress” but every item is higher than before our illegal invasion, so doesn’t “higher or more” mean progress?

The Iraqi people no longer have to fear being shot by the government.

They are able to vote for candidates that represent their views as opposed to being forced to vote for Saddam or be shot (remember, Saddam was voted into office every election with 100% of the vote).

They are no longer being discriminated against for their religion (Sunni vs. Shiite).

Their country is no longer being ran by a war monger.
