we got rid of Saddam other than that i have heard nothing…i don’t support the war but i support our troops
well we caught Saddam Hussein but other than that i dont know
Somebody already asked this honey, but since you asked. Only deposing of a genocidal, killed millions dictator, allowed the country to have two free elections, liberated 20+ million people, the rest remains to be seen, of course if we leave, well I’ll leave that up to your imagination about what will happen.
Is the butchering dictator Saddam Hussein still alive?
Rid of a dictator that segregated his own people in his country. He killed for satifaction no matter if we did not find any nuclear weapons even though it went to countrys around Iraq.
Independent contractors have gained a few tax brackets . . . that is if they are not based out of Dubai.
In 2004, Fallujah was a hotbed for insurgents. The military gave them warning to get out, that anyone left would be considered the enemy. After the take over of Fallujah, it is now a peaceful city. Read these books for more on Operation Phantom Fury
No True Glory, by Bing West
Fallujah, with Honor; First Battalion, Eighth Marine’s Role in Operation Phantom Fury, by Gary Livingston
Read up, these are excellent books about Marines in Iraq, and the good they have done. There are more books out there about the other branches.
Stockholders in Halliburton have gotten richer. Our country is now pretty well divided, with anger on both sides. We have borrowed so much, it will take generations to cover the debt. We owe China waaaaay too much. There are other achievements, but too numerous to mention.
Not that I am aware of. Oh, actually, on a second thought, some Israelis would say that extra security was achieved for them…
Deaths for nothing. The Iraq war is worthless and war is based on lies.
two words…………….. Vietnam War
A lot has been achieved. The news doesn’t seem to like reporting all the good things that goes on. Where you’ll see the good stuff is a lot of the military post’s own newspapers. Like in our recent one it talks about the Iraqi citizens fighting back against the insurgents. Or in the Army Times there is an article that states this, “America’s troop buildup in Iraq has sharply reduced sectarian killings and roadside bombings and lowered al-Qaida’s influence.” Our soldiers have built police stations and other buildings for the Iraqis. They bring supplies and food to communites and schools.
Just because you don’t see it in the news doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
can I say OIL?! hello!
The Iraq Freedom Congress (http://www.ifcongress.com/English/index.htm ) is a libertarian, secularist,non-violent, democratic, and progressive group that opposes Ba’athism, Islamism, and nationalism — as well as the US invasion/occupation.
The Iraq Freedom Congress has organized a self-defense Safety Force that patrols neighborhoods in Iraq (population: 5,000) and has reduced sectarian violence there to zero. However, far from supporting this effort, US forces have assassinated the head of these Safety Forces (http://tinyurl.com/25yknr ).
News & Views for Anarchists & Activists:
Sure….
1) Millions of people who weren’t dead….ARE.
2) Hundreds of billions, nearing trillions of dollars spent on killing them are no longer available for more intelligent, useful and humane applications such as biomedical research, alternative energy and universal healthcare.
3) Propaganda has once again been proven to be the most virulent invention of man. Whatever form it takes, the results are the same–death, destruction, collective stupidity and the perpetuation of the ideal that war is an acceptable option.
