What in your opinion is the difference between Iraq and Mexico?

Iraq is obvious, mexico isn’t, we don’t stop to think of how Rome went down.
Iraq is in the middle of a civil war. Mexico is a corrupt country that keeps sending us their poor, their drugs, their gangs, etc…
Though both are hot places that produce some oil and are inhabitted by ‘brown’ people who are actually mostly caucasian, there’s really not much similarity. Mexico is a long-time neighbor, ally and trading partner of America, with a corrupt but vaguely democratic government. Iraq was none of those things – it was a brutal military dictatorship with a history of massive human rights violations and making war on it’s neighbors.
The Iraqis are already muslims, the Mexicans are becoming muslims.

Night and day, I cant believe you make the comparison? they have nothing in common. Although Mexico is dirt poor it has a free society. Sure the governments corrupt and crime is rampant but these are fixable things if the people of Mexico really want them to change, whereas Iraq had a brutal dictator that slaughtered hundreds of thousands. the people had no voice and if they spoke up they were murdered.
Oh and by the way i would be against millions of illegal Iraqis if they were coming here also, American cannot be expected to solve the worlds poverty problems and if we are expected to do it on our soil it just breeds poverty among us.

I did not support the war in Iraq, but it’s still up to the people of Mexico to run their country. Mexicans in the USA do not obey our laws, and run from a country that gives them maps to greener pastures, but still proudly wave their flag, can you imagine what they would do in Mexico to our soldiers, if we invaded. Mexico has all the tools they need to have a government for and by the people, from natural resources to capital, so it’s up to them to make it work for them. They have no problem protecting their southern border from those who want to invade, so stopping a invading USA would be a great fun for those had have great resentment for the USA

The arab muslim attacks on us (I don’t care from what arab country they are), here in the USA as well as in the UK and other European countries with bombs and ******* bombers, are in part because of the illegal mexicans who force their way into our country (USA), and in so doing MANY muslims enter our country too to plan and prepare to do another catastrophe on us!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mexicans force themselves here showing total DISRESPECT for our Country, our Flag, our National Anthem…while draining us of the wellfare benefits designed only for the American poor. I know them personally. They aren’t even afraid to say publicly they are faking to get disability checks and other benefits – not afraid because they KNOW we are stupid enough to support these hoodlums (from very hard earned tax money from me and other citizens) who are on drugs and raping women…Many times in their Spanish TV talk programs, when asked why faking to get money, why stealing, robbing, cheating, raping??? They declare “I ain’t gonna work for minimum wages” (!!!!!!).
So far, they brought us nothing but fakings, robbings, stealings, cheatings, rapings and a whole lot more…all in addition to giving the arab and other muslims the opportunity to also enter illegally and do their bloody muslim thing on us!!!

First Just a comment to dizneyland fan.
With regards to drugs and gangs, these things could not exist unless there was a great market and customers. When I was visting Columbia I could not help but notice for example that they overall, stay away from that stuff… they are not stupid. Some see the North American market and though not users, they sure will sell it.
How come then, that many of your celebrities like Richard Pryor through to the mayor of Washington, not to mention numerous other celebrities in the news who are caught with drugs only get a light wrist slap, rehibilitation and released?
Singapore and Malaysia tried all this stuff 30, 40, 50 years ago, Now if “anyone” is caught under 200 grams they get a lengthy prison sentence; over 200 grams, they hang. The executioners are an equal opportunity employer when applying their craft and race and culture is not an issue as a few Aussies and recently a Dutchman found out. Look at yourselves and clean up house first is my observation. Take drugs seriously with no exceptions or forget it!
As to the question, Mexico has a lot of oil but it is heavier and tarrier than the Middle East so a barrel costs more to produce and refine. Last I checked Saudi’s Iraqis etc could make money still on 5 dollars a barrel if they really wanted to lower prices to eliminate Mexico from the market. What we call a great producer well too in Canada, they plug and abandon over there.
The diffence between Mexico and Iraq is the culture and religion. Even though Mexico has her problems as stated in this forum, she still is part of the Western Tradition and is far more compatible with us than is much of the Islamic world.

You get the prize for the dumbest question of the day. No roadside bombs or would be religious zealots here in Mexico. Anti-illegals have a notion that there is a Mexican invasion of the US, when it just the poorest of Mexico’s poor who keep risking their lives to get across the border to work. Not to mention the poor of Guatemala and El Salvador who are competing with Mexicans for jobs. The US already tried to take over Mexican oil and failed…if memory serves, that was 1920.
WMD are a direct threat to us. What don’t care what happens to mexicans until they hop their dirty drug smuggling ***** into our country. Oh wait, then we pay taxes to give them free medical care. Nevermind.

Wow, very good point….The US govt. is in cahoots with the Mexican govt., our govt really does support corrupt govts. when it suits there purposes…. They don’t want to spoil a good thing, why make waves? Now if Mexico decided it didn’t want to sell its oil for dirt cheap, then we would see this country calling out for humanitarian abuses….Its all politcal~!
