What is the best strategy in the war in Iraq and the overall war on terror?

Thursday, June 10th, 2010
iraq
Rob S asked:

I think the war in Iraq is progressing nicely toward the new Shiite government replacing Saddam’s brutal regime with a similar regime dominating the Sunni minority and tolerating the Kurds at least in the near term. It seems like the Shiite government is positioned to take control of most of the country in a timely fashion. The predominantly Sunni areas will remain disputed and require external assistance to prevent them from fortifying against the Iraqi government. If we leave them alone then there will be a civil war and the Sunnis will lose, leaving Iraq to pair itself alongside Iran and I think to join them as a sponsor of terror. Also, if we leave, then Saudi Arabia and other predominantly Sunni Arab countries will support the Sunni insurgents and drag out the Civil War, inflaming Sunni-Shiite tensions in the Arab world.

I think someone has to support Iraq to prevent this from happening? Unless we think we’d be better off with a Middle East at war with itself?

Palestinian State
Afghanistan

Does anyone know of any websites that could help me with this, or have any knowledge on any of these? I have no clue.

Why do most americans want Iraq to be a safe haven for terrorists?

Monday, May 24th, 2010
iraq
bionicleis2cool117 asked:

The reason why Bush is keeping our soldiers in Iraq is to stop the insurgency from making Iraq into another safe haven for terrorists. He’s said that that is the reason, many times. If we left Iraq tommorow without stopping the insurgency, the terrorists would use Iraq as a hideout to launch a second terrorist attack on America. If that happened, we would need to put the troops in Iraq back into Iraq. Why should we leave Iraq then?

How to avoid being kidnapped and a target for snipers in Iraq?

Cody B asked:

Like what tracking devices to get and code message, etc.
I just watch the video of Nick Berg, Daniel Pearl and some American soldiers and it give me chills down my spine.
I was thinking how can we prevent incidents like those from not happening in the first place.
I am getting deployed to Iraq.

How are troops in Iraq defending our freedom of speech?

John asked:

Often when I criticize the war in Iraq, I am told that soldiers are dying over there to defend my right to express my opposition to what they are doing. I haven’t the faintest idea how one could come to such a conclusion. Do you?
