How long do you want our soldiers to be in Iraq? What is our purpose there?

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011
Encourager asked:

One year, two years or indefinite.

Three things I feel America needs to do:

1. Learn Iraq’s language
2. Respect their religion
3. Eat their food if we are going to be successful at building a strong democratic society in Iraq or leave an abandon the mission altogether.

What to you think will happen in Iraq after the US leaves? Democracy or Muslim extremism?

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011
morena leppert asked:

In Iraq the US is making great sacrifices in soldiers’ lives and spending billions of $ in order to bring it democracy.

Do you think democracy will survive there after the US leaves, or will it soon degrade to Muslim fundamentalism ?

My husband’s unit is mobiliznig in a few weeks and I was just thinking I’d send him with stamps for writing letters and I wondered if we use regular postage stamps, or if you need different postage when sending letters to a Soldier in Iraq. Thanks!

How can I find contact information for sending Valentines to American troops in Iraq?

Sunday, September 11th, 2011
Cristina asked:

Iraq or any other place really…In the past I’ve participated in organizations that write letters of appreciation and prayer to send to American soldiers overseas. I think it’s a wonderful idea and I’d love to do it again but I don’t know how to go about it…I don’t know where to send them. If you have any info, please share!

How come conservatives did not oppose the wasteful spending on Iraq war?

Monday, September 5th, 2011
math asked:

$2 trillion spent on Iraq even though Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 and no WMD existed. Yet the conservatives were very comfortable and welcomed it. Now suddenly they start accusing Obama of wasteful spending. How come?

How long are the terms for the marines and the tours in Iraq?

Monday, September 5th, 2011
Bigasian asked:

I know the Army offers 3-5 year terms but how long is a term in the marines. I am considering joining but I have a lot of education ahead of me and a one year difference is a long time. Also, how long are the tours in Iraq? I’ve heard of three months to eighteen months.

Friday, September 2nd, 2011
Fizzy Bubbler Can’t Be Stopped! asked:

That Iraq was because of WMD’s (just with bad intel), Afghanistan was about catching Bin Laden and Libya is about helping the poor rebels achieve Democracy?
Super: So if someone killed your mom, you’d be happy to kill some other innocent man that had nothing to do with it for revenge even when you know who really did it and just let him go on about his business?
