What kind of cookies can I make for my enlisted friend stationed in Iraq?

Friday, September 23rd, 2011
DIRT asked:

Hi. My friend has been in Iraq for a month now and is hankering for some homemade cookies. I want to send him chocolate chip, etc. but I’m afraid they’ll melt/be stale by the time he gets them. Any suggestions on what I can bake ( he deserves homemade, so store bought isn’t an option ) or how I can ship them so they won’t be a mess when he gets them? Thanks.

How can I find work in Iraq as a videographer?

Thursday, September 22nd, 2011
pomoblows asked:

I have a B.A. in Film Studies from a top liberal arts school. I have 3+ years as a freelance videographer, but none as a journalist. I have experience traveling abroad, a valid US passport, and the nerves to work under fire.

I’m not sure where to begin. I want to be on the fault lines of history. And I think Iraq would be a great place to build up my real. I appreciate and accept that Iraq is a dangerous place for journalists.

Where should I begin my search? How in need are US news agencies of American videographers willing to work cheaply in Iraq?

If Iraq was worth the war to instill democracy and get rid of Saddam, who is next?

Tuesday, September 20th, 2011
psychosolodiver asked:

Regardless of the fact that the reasons for the war were trumped up, I keep hearing that the Iraq invasion was worth the death and destruction because now they have “democracy.” If that is true, who is next and why?

Saudi Arabia?
Jordan?
Syria?
Pakistan?
North Korea?

Iran is a democracy, but for some reason, we don’t seem to be fond of them, either.

What is the fastest possible way to go from civilian status into combat in Iraq?

Sunday, September 18th, 2011
rossjnr asked:

That is, in which service would one enlist? What MOS (if that’s the acronym I want …) would one choose? And what’s the briefest conceivable time this could take, from signing the papers to landing in Iraq?

No, this isn’t my plan or anything. Just curious.

My husband is currently stationed in Iraq. We both have a webcam. We have tried to use the webcams with yahoo messenger, but they are constantly froze up. Does anyone know of a program that we could download so that we can use our webcams and not have them freeze constantly?
