What camera and laptop to bring to Iraq?

Monday, July 12th, 2010

jayeboog asked:

My husband is going to Iraq this year. I want to get him a camera and a laptop as a gift to use over there. What are some good comps and cameras that will survive over there. For a camera he’ll need someone small that can just go in his pocket or in a case on his belt. For a computer, needs something he can game on and something that has a webcam built in, good graphics all the goods really. Any advice helps.

What would happen if the Iraq war continues indefinitely?

Sunday, July 11th, 2010
iraq
David K asked:

I am interested in how bad the United States would look if it just refused to leave Iraq.
Will some people just want the US to stay in Iraq on purpose to make the United States collapse as a nation economically?
If the United States continues to stay in Iraq it will go bankrupt at some time in the future so maybe Osama and Azawahiri will just love for the US to stay there.
Can the United States, considering the state of the economy in the US, continue to stay in a war WORLDWIDE killing terrorists,Abu Sayaff, Al Qaeda, Tamil Tigers whatever their particular name is ? I don’t think people realize that with the dollar weakening to all time lows that the United States cannot continue much longer at its current pace of war expenditure especially since they are not capable of settling the problems in numerous other countries(Sri Lanka,Sudan,Uzbekistan,Lebanon,Syria,Iran,Etc.)

How much longer will the American people allow the war in Iraq to go on?

Friday, July 9th, 2010
iraq
Erudite/veteran asked:

The claim that the Iraq war has anything to do with terrorist attacks is wearing thin, as we see what happened in Iraq yesterday.(220 Iraqi people killed)

Saddam was a strong opponent of Muslim religious fanaticism, and a barrier to Osama. Now Saddam is history. The latest reason claimed to justify the Bush war is that we have an obligation to set up a democratic state in Iraq. How much longer will the American people buy this? Will Bush need to invent a new justification to keep his war going until he leaves office? The American troops are dying for nothing. How much longer will the American people put up with our men/women dying?

When our guy in Iraq Maliki sends troops to kill his own people how is that different than Saddam?

Sunday, July 4th, 2010
iraq
Wooglet Voot asked:

We have to attack Iraq and throw him out. He is a brutal leader.
The people gased were armed and fighting to overthrow Saddam’s government.
I guess you could say gas is against the Geneva convention but so is attacking a country without declaring war, or that has not attacked. To be clear one of those two things has to be true.
We were providing air support to the Kurds by enforcing the no fly zone. We were providing them weapons so they were shooting at Saddam.

What is it about democrats and complete reversals of policy on the invasion of Iraq?

Friday, July 2nd, 2010
iraq
Liberal AssKicker asked:

Do you remember when democrats, led by Clinton, called for regime change in Iraq in the late 90s?

Do you remember how most democrats campaigned for the invasion and voted in favor of it in 2002-2003?

(This is where liberal memories begin:)

Do you remember the 5 years of liberals absolutely trashing America for the invasion and calling for war crimes tribunals against Bush and co.?

And since Obama was elected, where are the protestors? Did the Iraq war suddenly become “cool” again?

Does the cost of the Iraq occupation causes a fragile economy?

Thursday, July 1st, 2010
iraq
James Star asked:

Barack Obama has linked the effects of the cost of the occupation of Iraq to fragility in the economy. Do you agree with him?

Other sources estimate that the cost of the attack and occupation of Iraq will run to $3 trillion. This does not include other defense spending.
